DARK POETRY – “Hunger” by Tina McFarlane

Venom trickles down her lips
once the sweetness of flower’s bloom
holding tight to lover’s kiss
caressing life from this fragile form

His beauty trapped in endless time
as soul’s passing softly fades
a sleep in restless hunger lays
awakened by the midnight moon
which draws from morning’s gentle gaze

So he shall rise, another son
an ancient legacy reborn
to join in nature’s dark display
mankind’s demon in civil form
Perfection’s unholy child preys
