DARK POETRY – Scarecrow by Tina McFarlane

And here I stand
as winds blow powdered life
across this hollow field

ashes to ashes
dust to dust

I watched as seasons disappeared
watched crimson rays burn the horizon
watched the world grow silent

but time has little use for me
so here I will remain
the final witness
to the end of everything
