DARK POETRY – “Come inside my madness” by Tina McFarlane @tina_mcfarlane

Come inside my madness
Be careful where you tread
the floor’s covered with bones
the water’s filled with lead

The ringing in your ears
so high it makes them bleed
The walls are slowly closing in
salvation’s all you need

But don’t you worry about your fate
Your life is safe with me
I’m as harmless as a fly
with wings of misery

Hopelessness and Despair
Will help to set you free
So come and join our little band
leave everything to me

I’ll show wonders never seen
by anyone still sane
The depths that depraved souls will go
to try to ease their pain

Relief yourself of reason
Give up morality
For they will have no place here
in the prison of the free

I see that you’re still having doubts
It’s reality you fear
Knowing your life’s no longer yours
the minute you came near

Screaming? Really that’s no good
You sound like all the rest
and pleading’s just a waste of time
but you did try your best

Come, sit down right next to me
We’ll be the best of friends
and you’ll share all of your darkest thoughts
Until your nightmare ends

Until you beg for sweet release
Until your mind caves in
And then you’ll finally come to see
That madness always wins
