DARK POETRY – Chameleon Courtesan by Tina McFarlane

Let me paint my form
in your desired image

Soft and molded

A mirrored reflection
that holds just as much depth

Wound tight
in corseted precision
for eyes not accustomed
to imperfection

I offer flushed cheeks
and tempered smile
you offer pale flatteries
to a darkened heart

Foolishly you wear me
draped around your neck
like a coiled serpent

Should I choose
to let my venom
bleed into your bones
you would die
in blissful agony
unaware of your possession
