Honestly, I was a bit sceptical about this book for the mixing of horror and scifi, but it really made my day. It’s so full of action you don’t even care about what genre it is. Sometimes the jumps in time were a bit fast for me, but that’s totally personal. I’ll be aware of this author work from now you, you bet.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. It has been a bit difficult for me to read because I’m not used to all the “alien” thingy, but I must admit PD Alleva develops an amazing narrative. If you’re into science fiction more than me, I’m certain you’ll like this book.

I liked it. I must say it’s not a common read, I think you have to be a specific kind of reader to fully enjoy it but the writing is clean, the story filled with action scenes and the aliens, terrific. When I read the blurb and I saw the “alien-vampire” concept, I really couldn’t imagine what it was going to be like.

The Rose has a very unique and interesting plot with a lot of diverse characters. They are all driven by their own goals, which makes for a complex book. While I liked and enjoyed the premise, I found it a bit hard to follow at times. Or rather, I lacked the motivation to keep up with the many threads. It just didn’t grab me that much. However, that’s no reflection on the book and rather a case of personal taste.
