ZOLA BY D.E. MCCLUSKEY – Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse (better), it does!

From the dark mind of D E McCluskey, author of CRACK and Cravings, comes a twisted, cheesy novella …

Zola!

Gordon’s name was a joke, given to him by an abusive father to mock his wife’s love of cheese.

It was just another in long line of cruel jokes.

Andrea Zola is a doting wife and a protective mother. However, when she uncovers a truth, one so shocking that it rocks her world to its very foundations, one of these things changes drastically.

Gordon and his mother are thrust into a whole new world. With nowhere to turn and no one to turn to, they are forced to do whatever it takes to survive. Gordon’s love for his mother, and for cheese, is about to be taken to a whole new level.

If you are a lover of cheese, and indeed of decency, then this extreme horror novella may contain triggers.

You have been warned!

Readers Speak!

Me: “CRAVINGS is the grossest thing I’ve read all year.” ZOLA: “Hold my beer!” Cheesus Christ! David McCluskey said ZOLA isn’t as gross as his previous book CRAVINGS. He’s right. ZOLA is much, much worse! I fucking devoured every delicious, splattery morsel. Cheese was the glue holding my life together until I read this book. Now it’s hanging by a string of mozzarella. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse (better), it does! Underneath all the depravity, this was a beautifully written story of a relationship between mother and son. Just with copious amounts of cheese. 5/5 Gordon cakes.Renee

Say cheese!
Gotdamn. That’s how I’m starting this review off and trust me when I say, it fits. I thought, it cannot be as bad as Cravings. I have never been more wrong in my life. Zola is disgusting, depraved, repulsive, soul crushing, vomit inducing, bile building insanity! But, somehow, some way, McCluskey writes in such a way that you have no choice but to finish the book. And I didn’t want to. I really, really, really didn’t. How he can write where you have no control over turning the page and yet you know it’s only going to get worse is beyond my comprehension. And David writes everything and everything under the sun! The man is a literary Renaissance Man, and I’m not exaggerating. If you have a trigger, this man not be the one for you, son. I don’t do trigger warnings but… incest, child sodomy (it’s not graphic in the act, but graphic in the aftermath), people snacking, actually A LOT of people snacking, bodily fluids of every kind, and so much more. I have never read anything like it. You can’t really say you love a novella like this, that would cause the cops to come to your door, but I can absolutely appreciate the story telling, character development, and mental torture that not only was inflicted upon us but on McCluskey as well. Even with all the insanity, there is a story of a Mother’s love and the lengths she will go to to protect her child and keep him “healthy”. I put that in quotes because when you read it, you will understand it. 5/5 I need a good brain cleaning.Christina P.
