“These Walls Don’t Talk, They Scream” by Kevin Holton

When three-year-old Charlotte witnessed her mother’s death and was left alone with the body, she began hearing the voice of a person living in the walls of her house.

This voice comforted her as best it could, guiding her to call 9-1-1. Twenty five years later, Charlotte has returned with her own family to reconnect with this presence.

The recent death of her son leaves her distracted and mourning, though, so she doesn’t realize her daughter can hear this entity too.

Kevin Holton is a cyborg and coffee addict living in coastal New Jersey, usually found writing sci-fi and horror.

He is the author of At the Hands of Madness (Severed Press), as well as three upcoming novels: The Nightmare King (Siren’s Call Publications); Nova EXE (Mighty Quill Books); and These Walls Don’t Talk, They Scream (HellBound Books). He also cowrote the short film Human Report 85616 alongside Kevin North Ruiz, and has nearly 100 short stories published or coming soon.

When not reading and writing, he can be found talking about Batman, narrating audiobooks, or recharging in a dark room somewhere.
