Synopsis

A mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism ravages the city of New York.

Ok, so this one is not a movie, but a series that contains gore, horror, monsters, survival and folklore. Yeah, it has it all.

A strange outbreak leaves passengers on a plane bound for New York in a catatonic, semi-dead state. But when they begin to awaken they change. They have a lust for blood and carry a strain of death which no one is equipped to deal with. No one except on old man named Abraham Setrakian. He has tangled with the thing in his lifetime and is now set out to destroy it once and for all.

Ephraim Goodweather, the head of the CDC, is charged with finding out what is going on. Soon the city is engulfed in murders that resemble and ancient being. But there is way more. As the few survivors ban together, they discover that the Strain is not an accidental incident. They must also find out how to beat the deadly spread before it takes over the world.

This show is on Hulu and definitely worth the watch. There are 4 seasons worth binging.
