Dog Soldiers – 2002
Synopsis
A routine military exercise turns into a nightmare in the Scotland wilderness.
Once again, the UK provides us with a werewolf tale that is different, frightening and with amazing costuming.
Dog Soldiers is about a group of British soldiers that are sent on a training mission in the Highlands of Scotland. They had heard some rumblings about the area being sketchy, but hey, they are soldiers, right. But somewhere during their training, they come across one of the hard-nosed, Special Ops leaders and soon they are faced with the truth about the stories. The slaughter is very bloody, as the story takes on a whole new turn. The men are saved by a woman who just happens to be in the area. She drives them to a cottage where the soldiers patch up their wounded and try to wait out the night. But unfortunately, something else is waiting as well.
This film is one of my favorites in that you have actual costumed wolves. There is no CGI, just good ole make up effects. That is something that makes this movie special. In addition, you are wondering if anyone will get out alive.
