Synopsis
Two sisters diving in a ruined underwater city quickly learn they’ve entered the territory of the deadliest shark species in the claustrophobic labyrinth of submerged caves.
Sophie Nelisse and Corinne Foxx, star is this sequel to the 47 Meters series. This time, their father, played by John Corbett, is the lead archaeologist on an underwater discovery. Their daughters Mia and Sasha, played by Sophie and Corinne, have their own set of sibling issues, but one day decide to cut out and go swimming with friends.
They soon discover they are at one of the openings to the dig and decide to go exploring. A fun day of swimming and skipping school soon turns into a nightmare. The girls find themselves trapped in a series of caves with a deadly predator.
Let’s face it, there hasn’t been a number of good shark horror films since Jaws, but the 47 meters series comes pretty darn close. This film captures the essence of being trapped not only by the labyrinth of tunnels but also by the fact that there is only so much air in their tanks. These young ladies are not only fighting against staying alive, they are fighting against their own limitations by being underwater.
