In Loneliness by Tina McFarlane

I find comfort
buried with my thoughts
a silk-lined casket
with eyes welcoming the dark

I breathe in the lily scent
In…
Out…
Enveloped in a calmness defined
by the knowledge
that I am not wanting

So many seek
unable to live without
feeling desolate and desperate
they reach
trying to claw themselves out
from six feet under

I am
one of the blessed lonely

Content to be
then fade away
