DARK POETRY ~ “Winter’s Masquerade” by Tina McFarlane

Violet black and lovely
Your beauty reflects the stars’ Light

With spider’s wings you Fly
Bare feet on a frozen floor
A blur of dark hair hides your face
But I can see you Smiling

From partner to partner you dance
Your arms meet but never Touch

As you find your place
Ignoring all others
You let the Moonlight take you

The Frost kisses your lips
Its heat warms you

At dawn you disappear
A shimmer in Winter’s Breath
Until Night again rises
And asks you to Dance
