DARK POETRY ~ “Waltz with me” by Tina McFarlane

Shall we dance?

Let us move amongst the long, dark caresses of the night

Hold me close

Until you feel my heart’s life in yours

Let us sway

As our bodies

Move in a rhythm that no other can feel

Silence my breath with a kiss

Taste the scent of this music

‘Til the fever of our dance overtakes us

And burns our bodies

Like a flame consumes us

In a swirl of life and ashes

The music pulls us tight

And thus, bound we will rise

Until we pass this mortal life

And to the heavens take us
