DARK POETRY – “Oubliette” by Tina McFarlane

Where the darkness hides me
I sleep
for this is where sadness covers my spirit
I find comfort in my loneliness
not afraid of being forgotten

A glass ladder I could climb
and seek freedom from shadows
but my heart holds too heavy a weight
for it to bear
and I am too tired
to make the climb anymore

So I will lay here in my silence
and gently fade away
