DARK POETRY – “Acceptance” by Tina Mcfarlane

I am lifted up from the
ground
where once I stood

I see the world of those whose
memories I shared

We are forever tethered
to those who we have lost

I carry with me
all that I was

I wish I could speak
but words
once liquid from my lips
have dried out

I will miss you

I am carried like a newborn
with tenderness and grace
I close my eyes to rest

as my spirit journeys home
