Of course you can pledge to receive just the comic either just digitally or as a physical, high quality comic book with extra pages exclusive to the Deluxe Kickstarter Edition, featuring the cover artwork of 2000ad artist Alex Ronald.

These extra pages include a bonus text story from Chris McAuley, filling in some essential back story for Patricia Tallman’s character, Rebecca Steele as well as some behind the scenes development sketches and pencils.

First up is a welcome return to the Dark Legacies universe by our issue #1 interior artist Staz Johnson. We love what Staz does and it’s only through circumstances beyond his or our control that he’s unable to join us for the rest of the series on interiors. However he will be contributing a stunning variant cover.

Our second variant cover artist is one of the biggest names in the business when it comes to covers… John Tyler Christopher.

Meet The Creators

Claudia Christian has been in the film and television business as a performer for over 35 years. She has starred in over 50 films and hundreds of hours of television. Sci-fi fans around the world know her from her work on the Hugo award winning show Babylon 5 where she portrayed the complex Commander Susan Ivanova.

She is the author of two autobiographical books; “My Life with Freaks and Geeks”(2010) and “Babylon Confidential” (2012) and the sci-fi novel “Wolf’s Empire” (2016).

In 2019 her first cookbook written with gaming expert Mark Michel came out to 5 star reviews : Snack Hacks has over 100 recipes for fast, easy, healthy snacks and meals plus behind the scenes stories from professional gamers and voice actors. In 2020 she released “Journeys” a collection of stories from people on The Sinclair Method.

In 2022 her new YA book from Tor was released.

She is the most recognized advocate for The Sinclair method, a treatment for alcohol use disorder (AUD).

In 2013 she started her non-profit C3 Foundation to help raise awareness of the treatment, which saved her life in 2009. Her foundation is based in the US and has an international reach of over a million people and Claudia personally counsels dozens of individuals and their loved ones.

Claudia continues to work in TV and film and lends her distinctive voice to the award winning Anne Manx series, Disney’s Atlantis and some of the biggest games in the world including SkyRim, Guild Wars 2, World of Warcraft , StarCraft, Call of Duty, Halo and Fallout 4.

Claudia also starred in the first series of Netflix’s animated series “Gods and Heroes” and has a recurring role on the Fox series 911 playing Angela Basset’s character’s boss; the Captain of the LAPD.

This year she will lending her voice acting talents to the new Babylon 5 animated movie, which looks to revive the franchise for a new generation of fans while bringing a long overdue B5 hit to the original fans from the 90’s

Dr. Chris McAuley is a writer who specializes in the Horror, Science Fiction, fantasy and crime genre.

Chris has been the lead writer in novels, comics, audio dramas and games.

He is the co-creator of the popular StokerVerse, along with Bram Stoker’s great-grandnephew Dacre Stoker.

He has also worked with some of the top names in Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who and recently Terminator.

Glenn Fabry I am sure, needs no introduction to many of you.  A legendary figure in both British and American comics including an iconic run on Slaine in 2000ad, mesmerising cover art on Preacher, American Gods and of course those classic Vengeance of Bane covers for DC Comics.

This barely touches the surface of the contribution Glenn has made to popular culture through his art.

Therefore we are over the moon to be welcoming such a revered artist into the Dark Legacies team as our new main interior artist.

Chris Stockton is a new artist to the team and indeed to professional comics.

After working on a few small press titles over the years he’s been working really hard to break into the industry and here at Scratch Comics helping artists to do that is a big part of what we do.

Chris is drawing a superb back up strip written by Chris McAuley for this issue that delves deeper into the origins of Bruce Boxleitner’s character Marshall Jake Reeves and we think you are going to love this story.

Alex Ronald started his comic career in small press in 1994.

The following year he was picked up by Fleetway Editions to work on the Dredd movie comic ‘Lawman of the Future’ at which time he won the best newcomer award at UKCAC. Four more years followed of him working on various 2000ad strips and a brief stint at DC comics on Lobo.

By 2000 Alex had moved into computer graphics, developing for both video games and TV commercials. Thirteen years later he made a return to comics launching his own small press one shot, Vampire Vixens of the Wehrmacht.

This earned him a best artist gong at the Scottish Comic Book Awards and Heavy Metal took on the strip for publication. The last few years have seen Alex work as a cover artist for publishers on both sides of the Atlantic.

Vampire Vixens of the Wehrmacht 2 is currently in it’s early stages and will be his first sequential work in a decade.

MatSoffe  is more than a great colourist, he is an accomplished illustrator and artist and has worked for a variety of publishers  including Rebellion and Soaring Penguin.  He is also currently working with us on our other project Dracula The Return: Cult of The White Worm, which is an authentic comic book continuation of the classic novel by Dacre Stoker, Chris McAuley and artist Chris Geary.

In the future we are also talking to Matt about publishing his own creator owned title with Scratch and we cannot wait to share news of this with you in 2024.

Robin Jones is a writer and Letterer of comics.

He has worked for Image, Penguin Publishing, Humanoids, Heavy Metal, Schoolastic, Scout, Behemoth, A Wave Blue World, Shift, DC Thomson, BHP Comics, Comicscene, Comichaus, B7 Media, IdeasAndInks and also on Scratch Comics’ Hedrek: The Night of the Mummers and Broken Pieces.

He can be found on twitter @robjoneswrites shouting nonsense into the void, or at the local park shouting obscenities at the ducks.

Meet our Character Models

Many of the Babylon 5 cast have become involved in this project, not just lending their likenesses to the characters, but also contributing to the ideas behind their characters, working closely with Chris and Claudia to flesh out the back stories and contributing ideas about distinctive character traits.

This has been a great process and we are delighted to be working with the following actors on Dark Legacies and eternally grateful for their contributions:

Bruce plays the hard as nails mercenary turned Martian Lawman Jake Reeves
Patricia Tallman plays Jessica Steel’s older Sister Rebecca
Peter is playing an assassin working with Rebecca Steele

Our Pledge to You…

As kickstarter backers you will receive your copies of the book and your rewards before the books go on general sale.

It is really important to us that you guys, who support us at the beginning are the first to be able to read the book and hold a copy in your hands.

Therefore you will have your copies before they are in the shops. (Unless you are a retail backer..in which case you’ll have copies in stock before everyone else and have first dibs on the limited edition variants)
