In the darkness of night, sometimes our only hope is to know that dawn will break.
To Bryant VanHorn, it seems like the long winter will never end. His wife took his son and walked out on him last year. Now, he spends his days in tedium, working a mindless job and spacing out in front of his television.
When the biting cold finally gives way to the warmth of spring, Bryant receives a mysterious postcard showcasing Achlys Hill and its various hiking trails. Thinking nothing of it, he tosses it aside. As the days go by, he cannot get Achlys Hill out of his head; a place that he has never even visited.
Giving in to the call of the wild, Bryant goes to Achlys Hill. While hiking, he loses track of time and gets lost as the sun sets.

By chance, he runs into a young woman who has also gone astray. Her name is April.
As a fog rolls into the woods, bringing horrific specters and visions of the past, Bryant and April must help each other find their way out of the wilderness and realize just why they have found each other.
