DARK POETRY – “Cold Comfort” by Tina McFarlane

Shrouded
Torn emotions
Raw pieces
Fragmentary memories

False reflections
Of a life not ours

Robber of my dreams
We now me
Us now you
I stand firm
A willing prisoner
Blindfolded from the glare
Of sunshine kisses and a fool’s wishes

We stay
Comfort in coldness
Easier than solitude in warmth

Two souls untwined
A love resigned
