From Shadows to Spotlight🕯️: Bryan Asbury’s Journey in Horror Writing and Filmmaking 🎥

Bryan Asbury, a distinguished name in the horror genre, embarked on his writing career in 2022, crafting captivating tales for the popular horror podcast, ‘Chilling Tales for Dark Nights,’ which boasts nearly 500K subscribers on YouTube. He quickly rose to become one of their most celebrated authors, contributing eight stories to their chilling collection.

Bryan’s literary journey continued to flourish with the self-publication of his first short story collection last year. The success was phenomenal, leading to his book being stocked in select Barnes & Noble locations nationwide. This milestone was complemented by a book signing tour across eight Barnes & Noble stores in his home state, alongside appearances on Fox News and features in magazines like ‘Voyage L.A.,’ ‘Shout-Out Colorado,’ and ‘Yellow Scene.’

2023 started with a bang for Bryan as he signed with ‘Evil Cookie Publishing,’ a prominent name in horror and suspense literature. They recently released his latest collection, ‘Waking the Dead,’ further solidifying his status in the horror literature community.

Bryan’s ambitions stretch into film. His efforts caught the attention of Larry Robinson, president of Avatar Entertainment in Los Angeles. Through Larry, Bryan was introduced to the renowned Mexican horror director Henry Bedwell, and they are currently co-writing a screenplay for Bryan’s dark, psychological thriller, ‘The Mariachi Man.’ This story started as a modest yet gripping tale about an elderly, homicidal mariachi player obsessed with his young caregiver. It debuted on ‘Drew Blood’s Dark Tales’ last Halloween and was later included in ‘Waking the Dead.’ After collaborating with Henry Bedwell, the script has been transformed into a gruesome, no-holds-barred horror thriller.

Review from P.D. Williams, author of ‘Dark House Many Rooms’

‘This is bar none one of the most well-paced and terrifying short stories that I’ve heard in a very long time. Bryan continues to demonstrate a keen knack for getting into the listener’s mind and leading them down a dark, shadowy stretch of abject terror. This one is, at worst, a solid addition to a horror anthology series, or at best, a movie in the making.’ Bryan Asbury’s ability to craft stories that are both enthralling and eerie continues to set him apart in the world of horror literature and cinema.
